Choose a separate source and destination
Call the note “Restore rehearsal” and put a unique phrase on the sample image so you can identify the restored copy. Keep the live household storage separate during the exercise. If the restored app needs a credential or key you did not retain, record that dependency and repeat the rehearsal before relying on the process. Label the source and destination with different names. Check both paths before starting the restore, especially when a restore tool can replace existing files.
Check more than a file count
In Lumstead, the note and the image in the separate chat exercise different parts of the backup. After restoring, sign in through the intended path and open the content from the correct account. Check that a different household member cannot suddenly see the private sample. Open the attachment itself rather than relying on a filename in an index.
Record the missing prerequisites
A restore can depend on a service version, key, storage location or setup step held by only one adult. Document how an authorized person obtains what they need without writing the secret into the handbook. If anything failed, repeat with a clean destination after fixing the dependency. Preserve production backups throughout.
