What is Lumstead?
Lumstead is an AI space for couples and families, with private chat, shared plans and records, optional apps, and approved actions. It can run on a home Mac or in a hosted deployment. The product is in development.
Does everything stay on my Mac?
In self-hosted mode, records are stored on your Mac. If you choose a remote AI provider, your chat text and any records needed for the request are sent to that provider. A local model can keep model requests on your own network.
Can I use a ChatGPT or Claude subscription?
API keys are supported for the listed providers. ChatGPT plan connections need an approved partner integration, which is not configured. Claude consumer subscription sign-in is not offered; use an Anthropic API key.
Can everyone in my family see my chats?
Private chats belong to the person who created them. Family administration does not give another adult permission to read them. Shared records are marked as shared.
