Put the internal target beside the real deadline
For a Friday submission, a useful note might read “Tuesday: finish draft for review. Friday at noon: organizer must receive signed version.” Name which adult owns the draft and who signs it. Check the delivery method. A document that must arrive by post can require action well before a Friday deadline; a form accepted online may allow a later submission. Use the organizer’s instructions to establish the final time.
Use the earlier date to expose missing work
Make sure the person doing the work knows which date can move. If Tuesday slips, the form can still be completed Wednesday. If the household treats Tuesday as the real deadline, they may rush unnecessarily or conclude on Wednesday that the opportunity has passed.
Decide what happens if the personal target slips
If the first signature is still missing Tuesday, tell the second signer what they can review now and when the complete version will be ready. Keep Friday visible as the real deadline. If you learn that the issuer needs additional time or a particular file format, update the internal plan before the last day. Finish by checking delivery or acknowledgment, rather than assuming that hitting the household’s review target completed the external submission.
