Choose a day when learning will not delay everyone

Separate the next urgent departure from a chance to share the skill. The experienced packer can prepare for today’s tight trip. Before the next ordinary outing, demonstrate where the heavy bags go, which items need to remain reachable, and when to check that everything fits. Ask the learner to describe the order in their own words. You may discover an unstated rule, such as an instrument that cannot go beneath other luggage.

Let the new owner finish one complete attempt

Practice on a day without a tight deadline. Let the learner pack, check the result together, and note any item that is easy to miss. Next time, let them own the job from start to finish instead of silently repacking behind them.

Distinguish the required result from a familiar method

If the bags fit, the cabin is usable and the things needed en route stay accessible, their method need not match yours. Agree on any genuine safety requirements using the vehicle or equipment instructions available to you. If a bag blocks access or a necessary item was forgotten, identify that one issue before the next attempt. This leaves the learner deciding how to improve, without handing the entire job back to the faster person.
