Observe one complete cycle before proposing a fix

If clothes remain in the laundry basket, follow a single load. Were the clothes clean but still damp? Was there space in the drawers? Did anyone know they were supposed to fold them? These are different failures with different solutions. Ask the people involved what happened at the last unfinished load. An observable point where the work stopped is more useful than a general judgment about somebody’s habits.

Change one step for the next load

Try one specific change for the next load. Name who returns clothes to drawers or agree on a simpler place for frequently used items. Check the result before adding another reminder. A reminder to run the washing machine will not empty a full basket.

Check whether the new arrangement actually closes the job

For a drawer that is already full, removing old clothes might do more than assigning a regular folding time. If two people share the duty, arrange a recognizable handoff such as a clean basket placed outside the room, then confirm who empties it. Look again after a full cycle. A basket moved from the landing into a bedroom may make the house look tidier without actually finishing the job you wanted to solve.
