Measure the whole delivery route

Record the intended space and the narrowest doorways, turns, or stairs an appliance must pass through. Compare those details with the seller's delivery and installation requirements. A unit can fit the final space and still be difficult to deliver through the building. Ask the seller or installer to confirm unclear requirements before ordering.

Plan the transition between old and new

Schedule removal and delivery so the household knows what will be unavailable. When the new item arrives, record its own model details and instructions. Retire recurring reminders attached to the old machine rather than assuming the new one needs the same work on the same dates.

Ask when the old appliance will be removed, when the new one is expected, and whether installation is included. Make a household plan for the period between those events. A replacement washer arriving Friday does not guarantee it will be usable on Friday if installation is scheduled separately.

Start a fresh record on arrival

Save the new model, purchase documents, manual, and any service instructions under the new unit's name. Retire recurring tasks for the old machine after checking for outstanding claims or final visits. Tell the people who use the appliance where the new instructions live. Similar appearance or brand does not mean the new model needs the old maintenance schedule.
