A sheet for Friday evening

For Friday, write “Dinner is in the fridge. Lee collects the spare key at 9.” A permanent household handbook may also contain information about other people. Copy the relevant instructions into the visit sheet and put Friday’s date at the top. Add how the sitter can reach the responsible adult and where to meet on return. Check the arrangement with that adult before handing over the sheet.

Read it from the sitter’s side

Imagine arriving at the door with no access to the household app. Does the sheet identify the agreed entrance, who is expected, the return window and a contact if plans change? Ask the sitter to find the return instruction. If it depends on a family nickname or a link behind a login, rewrite that line in ordinary words.

Close the visit

When the visit ends, take back any temporary key and retire the sheet. For a repeat visit, make a fresh dated copy and confirm which details still apply. Keep urgent or specialized care arrangements in the instructions agreed directly with the responsible adults. A general visit sheet should not invent those arrangements.
