Choose an observable background action

In Lumstead’s preview, ongoing responsibilities need the server to stay running. Start a sample responsibility, close the browser and inspect its history later. If no check occurred, verify that the host stayed awake and the responsibility was enabled before assuming the browser must remain open. Compare the time recorded by the server with the time you reopened the browser. Choose a harmless scheduled check with a recognizable input and an expected saved result. Record its scheduled time before closing the browser.

Inspect the responsibility's history

Reopen the app after the scheduled check and examine its recorded status, sources and outcome. If a change was expected, inspect the destination record as well. Distinguish a server check from a browser notification: absence of a visible alert does not by itself establish that no work happened.

Diagnose a missing result

Check that the host stayed awake, the service remained running, the responsibility was enabled, its next check was due and any necessary model connection or permission was available. Change one condition at a time and repeat with fictional data. Stop the rehearsal after verification so it cannot generate recurring test work.
