Choose between an end date and a review date

“Use the west entrance through Friday during repairs” can expire on Friday. “Check in June whether the bike room still needs booking” needs a review. When no one can confirm the answer, keep the uncertainty visible instead of extending the date without evidence. A temporary instruction should tell readers what happens afterward. “Use west entrance until Friday” still leaves a question about Saturday unless you explain how to verify that the normal entrance reopened.

Assign the check to a person

For a bike-room rule, record the source, the date you checked it, who will ask the building desk next, and where the answer belongs. A review reminder with no owner can expire without anyone discovering whether the instruction changed. Make the new fact available to the people affected.

Retire the outdated version

If the rule ends, remove it from active directions and linked printouts. If its future is unknown, change its status to unconfirmed rather than extending it as fact. If renewed, add what you checked and the new date. A change of wording alone is not a factual review.
